BEREA, Ohio (Ticker) -- Cleveland Browns wide receiver Joe
Jurevicius is still experiencing swelling and discomfort in his
right knee, putting his status for the start of training camp on
July 23 in jeopardy.
Entering his 11th season, the 33-year-old Jurevicius had his
knee scoped Monday at the Cleveland Clinic, and the Browns have
not yet provided an update on his availability for the beginning
of camp in three weeks.
On June 11, Jurevicius revealed that he had three knee surgeries
in the offseason - one to clean up an old knee injury and two to
treat a staph infection.
At the time, he told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that he would be
ready for camp, but that was before this latest complication.
Jurevicius originally injured his knee in a collision with Tampa
Bay running back Mike Alstott during a game in 2003.
He was the Browns' third-leading receiver last season - his
second in Cleveland - with 50 catches for 614 yards and three
touchdowns.
