Lynch practices despite police probe

ORCHARD PARK, New York (Ticker) -- The focus of an ongoing
police investigation in a hit-and-run accident, Buffalo Bills
running back Marshawn Lynch on Tuesday worked out with his
teammates during organized team activities.
A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle registered to Lynch
early Saturday morning. The unidentified woman was treated and
released from Buffalo General Hospital.
Police have yet to determine whether or not Lynch was driving
the vehicle, or was even a passenger in the SUV, when the
incident occurred at 3:30 a.m. EDT on Saturday.
Lynch did not speak to reporters at the close of Tuesday's
practice, but his attorney, Michael Caffery, issued a prepared
statement.
"The Buffalo Police Department is still investigating this
matter," the statement read. "At the present time, I decline to
make any comment on behalf of my client. I have also instructed
my client not to make any comment."
The 12th overall pick in 2007, Lynch had a stellar rookie season
with Buffalo, rushing for 1,115 yards and scoring seven
touchdowns.
Bills quarterback Trent Edwards said Lynch did not seem to be
affected by the controversy surrounding him during practice.
"Marshawn is always going to be light on his feet and always
have a good time out there," Edwards said. "That's why it's
enjoyable to play with a guy like that. It's always fun to have
a guy that, when you put the football down, he's going to play
hard."
The Bills had issued a statement of their own Monday.
"At this point in time, we want to let the process play out
before we make any comments relative to the situation as we
don't know all the facts," Buffalo vice president of
communications Scott Berchtold said. "The investigation is
ongoing by the Buffalo Police Department, and all comments
relative to Marshawn are being handled by his attorney, Michael
Caffery. Anything beyond that is speculation, and we will
refrain from that."
