GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (Ticker) -- The Green Bay Packers cut ties
with Koren Robinson on Friday, releasing the troubled wide
receiver.
Robinson, 28, appeared in nine games last season for the NFC
North Division champion Packers, hauling in 21 receptions for
241 yards and one touchdown.
In October 2006, Robinson was suspended by the NFL for a
violation of the league's substance abuse policy. He was
reinstated by commissioner Roger Goodell a year later.
Robinson was involved in a high-speed police chase while still
with the Minnesota Vikings in August 2006. When stopped, his
blood-alcohol level was found to be over the limit.
A seven-year veteran, Robinson was cut by Minnesota and signed a
two-year deal with the Packers in September 2006, playing four
games before he was suspended.
Robinson, the ninth overall selection in the 2001 draft, has 263
catches and 14 TDs in 84 career games with Green Bay, Minnesota
and Seattle.
