Pacman makes interception in first practice

IRVING, Texas (Ticker) -- Adam "Pacman" Jones made a splashy
return to the football field.

One day after he was granted a partial reinstatement from his
NFL-imposed suspension, Johnson went through his first practice
session with the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday.

Jones ended the practice on a high note, intercepting a pass
during a two-minute drill and returning it for a touchdown. It
was the final play of the day.

"The first time I saw him in there, you see (No.) 21 going the
other way," Cowboys tight end Jason Witten said of Jones. "But
I told him that was with the third (string), don't get his hopes
up. When he's with the first group, he won't get that taken to
the house."

Jones will be allowed to participate in organized team
activities (OTAs), training camp and preseason games as a result
of Monday's ruling.

The Cowboys will hold OTAs from Tuesday to Thursday for the next
two weeks, in which Jones will participate, before conducting a
mini-camp from June 17-19.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell told Jones that a final
determination regarding his reinstatement for regular-season
play will be made by September 1.

Tuesday marked the first time the All-Pro cornerback has been on
the practice field since his suspension by Goodell in April 2007
for repeatedly violating the league's personal conduct policy.

"He was excited to be on the field," Witten said. "Obviously,
it was a long time coming. He was all smiles today, and I think
he just embraces that opportunity to play."
