Patriots QB Brady hurt

editor1  |Sep 07,2008

FOXBOROUGH, Massachusetts (Ticker) -- New England Patriots
quarterback Tom Brady limped off the field after he was hit in
the knee midway through the first quarter of Sunday's game
against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The reigning Most Valuable Player was hit in the back of his
left knee by Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard and crumpled to the
turf, clutching the knee.

Brady was attended to by team officials before hobbling off the
field and heading directly to the locker room.

Last season, Brady, a two-time Super Bowl MVP, set an NFL record
by throwing 50 touchdown passes. He did not take a snap this
preseason due to an injured foot.

There is no word on whether he will return.
