Patriots release Slaughter, Mixon

FOXBOROUGH, Massachusetts (Ticker) -- The New England Patriots
on Wednesday released linebacker T.J. Slaughter and cornerback
Tim Mixon.

The Patriots had signed Slaughter on February 12.

Slaughter, 30, has been a member of six different teams, playing
in 78 games - 32 starts - over his seven-year career. He last
played in 2006 with San Francisco.

The linebacker has recorded 358 career tackles, two sacks and
one interception over his career.

Mixon, 23, was a member of the Patriots practice squad last
season and did not see action during his rookie campaign.
