Report: Cowboys CB Newman gets extension

DALLAS (Ticker) -- Dallas Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman
evidently has cashed in on his career season.

The Cowboys and Newman agreed Tuesday to a six-year contract
extension worth $50.2 million, according to a report by the
Dallas Morning News.

Newman, a first-time Pro Bowler in 2007, was set to earn a $1.4
million base salary next season. The former first-round draft
pick will receive $22.5 million in guaranteed money over the
first three years of his new deal, according to the report.
