GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (Ticker) -- Wide receiver Bill Schroeder,
who played five seasons with the Green Bay Packers, informed the
team Thursday of his decision to retire as a member of the club.
The announcement has been a long time in coming for Schroeder,
who has not played in the NFL since appearing in seven games for
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2004.
Schroeder played with the Packers from 1997-2001, catching 225
passes for 3,435 yards and 20 touchdowns in 74 games.
"It was a great privilege to have played for the Packers for the
majority of my NFL career," Schroeder said. "I am honored that
the Green Bay Packers have allowed me to end my playing days as
a member of one of the greatest franchises in professional
sports."
In 111 career games, Schroeder made 304 receptions for 4,583
yards and 28 TDs.
