NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The Tennessee Titans signed
cornerback Cortland Finnegan to a four-year contract extension
on Friday, according to a report by The Tennessean.
Finnegan, who replaced Adam "Pacman" Jones last season, will
receive just under $17 million, with $8.5 million guaranteed,
according to the report.
Finnegan, 24, was scheduled to make the rookie minimum of
$445,000 this season. A seventh-round pick in 2006, he was
thrust into a starting role last season after Jones was
suspended by commissioner Roger Goodell for violating the
league's player conduct policy.
Jones was traded to Dallas for a fourth-round pick prior the
draft this past April.
Finnegan recorded 95 tackles and his first career interception
in 16 games last season. He has 165 tackles and three sacks in
32 games with Tennessee.
