Vikings waive DE James

editor1  |May 23,2008

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minnesota (Ticker) - The Minnesota Vikings on
Friday waived oft-injured defensive end Erasmus James after he
failed a physical.

"We decided today to waive Erasmus and we wish the best for him
in the future," Vikings coach Brad Childress said.

After playing in 15 games during his rookie season, the former
18th overall pick of the 2005 draft has been sidelined the
following two campaigns by season-ending knee injuries.

A former Wisconsin star, James had the knee operated on three
times since tearing his ACL and spraining his medial collateral
ligament in Week Two of the 2006 season.

The 25-year-old James recorded 31 solo tackles, five sacks and a
forced fumble in his career.
