Brett and His Back Seat Driver 10 weeks in, and my question: Who's going to play Brett Favre in his Hollywood biopic? A better question: Who could play Brett Favre in his Hollywood biopic? Ah, Brett. The reason behind the man-crushes of so many healthily heterosexual men-folk. And after all these years, we finally find out that he's cheating. He's enjoying help from a back seat Driver. One, Donald Driver. No! Of course he's not cheating, he's Brett Favre – who do you think he looks like? (Oh, it's just too easy...but...I can't...help it-) Bill Belichick?? Not this guy. He's too willing to smile when he discusses the game with members of the media. He's too apt to enjoy the game while on the field. He's to capable of laughing, celebrating...not acting like a robot with a vendetta against all earth citizens not wearing silver and navy with red trim/residents of Boston. No, no. Not this guy. He's the man that we love to love. And his current partner in crime – Donald Driver. Can we really remember when these two started hooking up? Has it really been 9 years? It's not uncommon to see QBs go through several receivers during the course of a career, yet for Favre, it was the Sterling version of Sharpe, Robert Brooks, Antonio Freeman, a Javon Walker who had no idea who he was in the presence of, and this Donald Driver fella. All household names in the receiver category; all recipients of the #4 hollow points. Quick, non-Packers fans: Where does Donald Driver rank in regards to Packers wide receiver numbers? You got it, he's at the top of nearly every category. If he can muster a few more yards over the next several weeks, he'll join Sterling Sharpe and James Lofton for the most consecutive 1,000 yard seasons by a receiver in a Packers uniform with 5. And next year, he may just do a fly by. He simply gets better with age, and his improvement and performance has helped define Brett Favre's last 10 years in the league. Could it be...could it be possible that by the time it's all said and done, we'll remember Donald Driver as the favorite target of Brett Favre? Favre to Driver – the famous shoulder rides, and two of the best smiles in NFL history? It's infectious, and a sideline photo of those two Cheshire Cats would look good on the walls in Canton! (Better than Patriot Billy B., that's fo' sho'!) It's an interesting question to pose, considering no one really knows how much longer #4 intends to stay in the game. That if, perhaps, this season happened to end as if written by those writers on strike at Walt Disney Studios, Brett Favre would march into Arizona in early February, square off against the 16-0 regular season New England Patriots and offer an encore to what we saw in 1996. The backseat Donald Driver would go for 8 catches and 117 yards...or so. And the MVP? Desmond Howard. Who else could it be? And playing Brett Favre in the Brett Favre story? Tom Brady, of course. I want to hear some feedback on this one. Who has been the best target for the “old” #4 throughout his illustrious career?
