D. J. Boyer Draft Blog-April 17

DJ Boyer  |Apr 17,2008

The New Orleans Saints are rumored to be moving up the draft board and it looks like the Rams and the Falcons are the teams they are interested in talking to as they try to move to #2 or #3 overall in an effort to acquire home-bred football stud defensive tackle Glen Dorsey from LSU. We’ll keep an eye on developments here as New Orleans is a team that always seems to be on the move with their top pick as they have moved frequently in both directions in the past.

Steve McNair to Retire

The Baltimore Ravens have announced a 1:00 PM EST press conference where it is expected that quarterback Steve McNair will announce his retirement from the NFL. This could have a huge impact on the draft as the Ravens are a team that some (including myself) could be the team to land Matt Ryan. With John Harbaugh already announcing the Ravens starting quarterback spot would be an "open compitition". This could mean the Falcons try to boost the talk that they intend to take Matt Ryan at #3 in an effort to force a trade with the Ravens. This will have a huge effect on the board and it will be tracked carefully.

This is where you can "stream me" or you can just watch me on Friday April 18th from 3-5 PM EST on MASN during "The Anita Marks Show" where I will be the co-host. Check your local cable listings for MASN and be sure listen and call in with your questions as we always take calls live during the show. I will also be co-hosting one day the following week but the exact date has yet to be determined. It will more than likely be Tuesday or Wednesday the 22nd or 23rd of April.
