This was an interesting week for me. I got to watch the game of the year in a bar in LAX while I waited for my flight to New York. For once, an NFL game is as good as its billing. This game had everything that a great game in a great rivalry needs. You had true blue superstars at the peak of their careers (Manning & Brady), role players coming through in the clutch (Wes Welker, Joseph Addai, Roosevelt Colvin), and an elite player making crazy athletic plays that made the game exciting to watch (Randy Moss). Because I scheduled my flight to JFK airport on the day of the best game of the season and had to watch it with the sound off in a lame airport bar, I have to say this week... I'm a dunce. Cop out? I don't think so. This was a pretty normal week by NFL standards. I would've happily handed this week's award to a Colt, Patriot, or member of the media had this game been as unwatchable as last week's Pats/Redskins blowout. One may also argue that Chad Johnson might be a dunce for laying out for that pass and almost ruining his career when his game was all but over. Being that he got hurt pretty badly, it would be rather sick of me to call him a dunce. I think I can say with a fair amount of confidence that nobody was a bigger dunce than me for absent mindedly booking a flight when this game was on. I could've been on my couch watching my flatscreen with a nice cold one. Nope. I was at LAX sitting next to some really important guy on his Bluetooth. Now that I bring him up, let's go ahead and call him a dunce. But since he isn't involved with football and obviously didn't give a crap about the game, we can't make him THE dunce. I'm far from perfect and I recognize my blunders when I make them. So without question, I happily name myself the Week 9 Dunce of the Week. Honorable mention to Shel-dogg for waiting until his team played mine in fantasy to blow up for over 100 points.
