Branden Albert looks to be the best offensive guard on the board in what looks to be a very weak class overall at the position. With Oklahoma underclassman Duke Robinson not declaring Albert seems to have made the right choice and should be taken by the 2^nd round. *Branden Albert, Offensive Guard, Virginia* Junior, 6-6, 315 *Strengths:* Upper body strength *Weaknesses:* Mobility *Technique:* Still a very raw prospect who picked up football late in his high school days after starting as a promising basketball star. *Known Injuries:* No major injuries at Virginia. *Combine / Workout Assessment:* Coming Soon. *DJ Boyer's Analysis:* Only spent three seasons at Virginia and is still very raw as a prospect and learning the game. Had Albert spent another year in College and been a more polished athlete he would be a definite first round pick for 2009. With Albert declaring in a weak class he has assured himself he still has an excellent chance of being the first guard off the board. The classic mauler who needs to show more flexibility and get lower in his stance but his upper body strength is second to none and as he learns more technique he can apply that with it and has the ability to be a solid future All-Pro. Has only allowed 1 sack in each of his last two seasons at Virginia and is above average blocking in the running game and in pass protection. Shows good vision and despite not being as mobile in the open field as some of the other top prospects he moves well in the backpedal and sliding and lateral movement seem to be no problem. Has proven to be very durable and has been the most consistent performer along a very talented line all season long.
