DJ Boyer's Analysis: When you break down the film of Lawrence Jackson you see a player without any major deficiencies in his game. Is a strong end who can push his way through defenders with brute strength and take up a lot of space. One of the best run-stopping defensive ends in the draft whose run/pass skill recognition is off the charts. Was durable at USC and a four year starter with a vast array of experience that is a pleasure to coach and doesn’t have any off the field baggage. Biggest downside is Jackson may not be a standout in any particular area other than run pursuit and defensive ability against the run. Has good size and is a well conditioned athlete who rarely seems to be tired. A natural leader who can call defensive alignments and shifts. Encouraging to see that many of his best performances came against top level competition and in big spots. Is a lock to be a second round pick but has a chance to go in the first round.
