Sheldon Sounds Off - I Asked for It... I was kidding. I realize I asked for more parity, even politely using the word "please," but I was kidding...Kidding! The last thing a fella like myself would be hoping for...THE Ohio State University at #1 in the BS - er, BCS. Big 10 fans rejoice, you've got a team in the number one spot by default. Let's hope the Buckeyes can win out and embarrass themselves in another BCS National Championship - that's what we're all hoping for! And if it plays out perfectly, they'll face the University of South Florida for the championship - oh yes, without a doubt, the two best teams in the country!? Let me scavange Ebay and Craigslist now for ticket offers! Do I seem bitter, or am I just like everyone else who is sick and tired of this antiquated, money making system that doesn't get the two best college football teams on the field by year's end? If the BCS hadn't proved in the past that it was totally and completely ridiculous, I think we can all agree it has succeeded in its first poll of 2007. As your eyes scan this diatribe, could you honestly say that you would put money, or even a twinkie on Ohio State over LSU? Let's hear it OSU fans - let's hear an argument! In fact, let's hear an argument that you could beat any of those top 7 teams! And when you get back from your fantasy land, you can meet up with Maurice Clarett after he aces his latest Chemistry exam and chat about the good ole days. Wake up, folks! It's time to protest this nonsense - Michigan getting it handed to them in last year's Rose Bowl, and Ohio State getting hammered by Florida in THE college football game of the year...Really, that was THE college football game of the year? And who was surprised? (Not I - I won a sweet HDTV because of the "best" from the Big 10.) But forbid it that we would have to watch such crap again in early 2008! It's like saying if New England loses a game this year (which will inevitably happen against the Dolphins, because of a big play by Ted Ginn), they will no longer be considered the best in the NFL. That's BCS logic - and it's BCSucky. Yeah, I'm so exhausted with it, that's all I can come up with!
