More Parity, Please Here we go. Literally. I'm out the door and on the way to Kentucky. I'm generally hesitant to divulge my comings and goings for fear of a Big 10 fan that might lock me into a never-ending conversation about why their conference doesn't suck. But this time, truly, I think everyone has conceded to FACT. Although I'll be right next door, I won't be able to score my seat to the Kentucky Wildcats v. LSU Tigers battle this weekend. I haven't given up hope to score a lil' sump'n sump'n for the Kentucky v. Florida game, which I believe will be the battle for the SEC East, but I've got until October 20th to secure my seat. This Weekend in the Big XII Just as I predicted last weekend, Missouri put the smack down on Nebraska, and this weekend they face Oklahoma...in Oklahoma. Could Missouri, excuse me, Mizzou pull off another “upset?” When Missouri wins, it will hardly be an upset. Everyone will realize that Oklahoma is simply not that good! Sam Bradford, their young QB, has loads of potential – just like Tim Tebow, just like Colt McCoy; however, he is still as green as Irish Spring, and even in their less than impressive win vs. Texas, he only had to rely on his first option in the passing game. I'm not saying he didn't use other options, but the kid is prone to tunnel vision. Just ask Colorado! I like Chase Daniel and look for him to have a big game in Norman. The Missouri Tigers will trade national rankings with the Sooners after this weekend – Mizzou 31, Oklahoma 26. This Weekend in the NFL of the NCAA Of course we're talking SEC football – what else could it be, the PAC-10? They don't play defense. Wasn't the Florida v. LSU game exactly why you BBQ on a fall Saturday? It's always about the SEC. And this weekend, LSU takes this #1 ranking to a very dangerous Lexington, KY, to perform in front of the Big Blue Nation. As much as one can talk and talk...and talk about the LSU defense, look for their offense to put together an incredibly impressive effort vs. the Wildcats. The Kentucky defense has been a work in progress, and has consistently improved throughout the season, but this Saturday, UK will face the most complete team in college football, and a defense that will be begging for Andre' Woodson to put the ball in the air. LSU will improve to 7-0, but Kentucky will take the greater good from the game. The 60 minutes on the field vs. the Tigers will serve as the best possible preparation to face Florida on 10/20. I've said it from the go, and I'll say it again: Regardless of the outcome this weekend, look for a rematch between the Wildcats and Tigers in the Georgia Dome on December 1st for the SEC Championship!
