DA says Lynch could be charged Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch could be charged early next week in connection with a hit-and-run incident which injured a woman in downtown Buffalo, according to a published report Friday. Erie County District Attorney Frank Clark told the Buffalo News that criminal charges could be forthcoming against Lynch. “I would not be at all surprised if he is charged early next week with a misdemeanor count of leaving the scene of an injury accident,” Clark told the newspaper. A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle registered to Lynch early Saturday morning. The 27-year-old woman from Ontario was treated and released from Buffalo General Hospital. Lynch is in the city this week working out with his teammates during organized team activities. Clark’s remarks came after Lynch’s lawyer, Michael Caffery, came to the district attorney’s office Friday for a brief meeting on the case. Caffery will return to the office Monday for a more in-depth meeting.
An eyewitness has told police that Lynch was behind the wheel of the SUV. Investigators also believe two other people were in the vehicle with Lynch. The 12th overall pick in 2007, Lynch had a stellar rookie season with Buffalo, rushing for 1,115 yards and scoring seven touchdowns.
