Kevin Curtis came within a slant pattern of snaring the Eagles' all-time record for most receiving yards in a game on Sunday. It was about the only thing the five-year wideout didn't catch. Curtis finished with eleven receptions for 221yards and three touchdowns in the Eagles 56-21 demolition of Detroit. Tommy McDonald, who was in attendances at Sunday's game, holds the team record for receiving yards in a game at 237. "There definitely was some room out there to run a route in that secondary," Curtis said following his heroics. "We're all just here to kind of exploit that with the way the line blocked in front." The scoring onslaught couldn't have come at a better time for the Eagles, whose offense had managed just one touchdown and an average of 12 points in opening at 0-2. But against Detroit, those struggles seemed a distant issue. The points were the most posted by a Philadelphia team in a regular season game since 1934. Overall, the Eagles rolled up 536 yards with quarterback Donovan McNabb throwing for 381 and four touchdowns and Brian Westbrook amassing a career-high 221 yards from scrimmage. "Well, it was definitely needed," said McNabb, who for the first time this season played without the knee brace he's worn on his surgically repaired right knee. "Coming off two losses where we just weren't playing as ourselves, we had to come out here and really make an explosion," he added. The Eagles will be out to continue their reincarnation on Sunday when they travel to New Jersey to face the longtime division rival Giants.
