The Philadelphia Eagles may have lost much more than just a game in their hard-fought 16-13 season-opening loss at Green Bay. Pro Bowl cornerback Lito Sheppard is expected to miss at least a week of action after mildly spraining his left knee late in the fourth quarter. The six-year veteran was injured when he was clipped during a three-way collision involving teammate Sean Considine and Packers' receiver Ruvell Martin. An MRI on Monday revealed Sheppard suffered medial collateral ligament damage to the joint. Coach Andy Reid seems to have already resigned himself to the fact Sheppard won't be on hand for the team's Monday night home-opener against longtime division rival Washington. “I don't think he'll make it,” said Reid. Almost as much as his penchant for making big plays, Sheppard has shown a knack of falling prey to injury. He missed six games in 2005 with a badly sprained ankle that required surgery, sat out three games early last season with another ankle injury and didn't play in the playoff loss to New Orleans after hurting his elbow. Seven-year veteran Will James is expected to replace Sheppard in the starting lineup with Joselio Hanson slotting into the nickel package.
