Eagles Turn to Mahe

Reno Mahe was attending church in Utah on Sunday when one of the veteran punt returners greatest prayers was answered. That's when Eagles coach Andy Reid began to think of the man he had cut only days earlier. As the Eagles kick return game continued to unravel in Green Bay, Reid knew he had to do something. And by the time, J.R. Reed fumbled the fourth-quarter punt that led to the game-winning field goal in the Packers' 16-13- season-opening win, he was convinced the best thing he could do was get Mahe back in Philadelphia ASAP. Mahe, who served as the Eagles primary kick and punt returner last season and led the league in punt-return average in 2005, seems more than obliged to answer his coaches call and reassume his old duties. "They wanted to make sure I was in shape, and I wouldn't go out there and fall on my face," said the fifth-year veteran, who began practicing with the team on Tuesday. "Now I want to do everything I can to help this team win the Super Bowl. When you play this game, that's always the mentality."
