Greg Ellis Injury Update

It appears that Greg Ellis may have rushed his return after all. He was physically unable to go after pulling up lame on his surgically repaired Achilles tendon. Phillips said the results of his MRI were negative but another day out means another day that Anthony Spencer gets work with the fist team-- this alone had Ellis thinking about retirement in July. Well, here we are in August and Ellis is still feeling the affects of an accelerated rehab that he went through in order to be ready for the start of the 2007 season. The negative MRI has Dallas trainers thinking Ellis should be fine and ready for the first week of the regular season.

Ellis also ended some of the drama by announcing to the media last week that he and Jerry Jones talked and that he would surely be a Cowboy for all of 2007. Ellis a nine year Cowboy veteran and leader and is hoping to fulfill the remaining three years of his contract with the Cowboys. Jones said, "We're counting on him. He knows we're counting on him."
