Jags Stroud Faces Suspension Jacksonville Jaguars Pro Bowl defensive tackle Marcus Stroud is facing a four game suspension for violating the league's steroid and substances abuse policy. Stroud could be sidelined as early as this weekend, when the Jags (5-2) are slated to face the resurgent Saints in New Orleans. According to the Florida Times Union, Stroud tested positive for a banned supplement sometime over the last two weeks, but has since demanded that another test be administered. The results of that exam are pending. Stroud, 29, underwent surgery on his right ankle during the off season and there are reports he may have taken various supplements to help speed up his recovery. A four game ban would cost him more than $300,000 of his $1.4 million base salary. A former first-round pick out of Georgia, Stroud is one of the mainstays on a tough Jaguars defense that rates as one of the best against the run in the league. He and fellow defense end John Henderson are considered one of the league's best tandems. “There's really nothing I can do to address the swirling rumors and stories,” said Jacksonville coach Jack Del Rio. “There will be an appropriate time for that.” For now, the Jags have moved to sign veteran tackle Grady Jackson, released last week by the Atlanta Falcons. Jackson said he drew interest from about seven or eight teams, but chose the Jags because of their noted defense.
