The Atlanta Falcons have released seven players including: tight end Alge Crumpler, quarterback Byron Leftwich, offensive tackle Wayne Gandy, cornerback Lewis Sanders, wide receiver Jamin Elliott, linebacker Marcus Wilkins and defensive tackle Rod Coleman.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that they have re-signed running back Michael Bennett. Terms were not disclosed.

The San Francisco 49ers announced the hiring of Chris Foerster as the team’s offensive line coach. He will share the offensive line coaching duties with George Warhop. In addition to hiring Foerster, the team also announced the signing of first-year punter Ricky Schmitt.

On Thursday,  the Miami Dolphins terminated the contract of linebacker Zach Thomas.

Earlier this week, the Oakland Raiders re-signed running back Justin Fargas. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
