Ravens Fire Billick On Monday, the Baltimore Ravens announced that head coach Brian Billick had been relieved of his coaching duties. After going 13-3 a year ago, the Ravens posted a dismal 5-11 record in 2007. During the course of the season, the team suffered a nine-game losing streak. Billick was hired in 1999 and the team won the Super Bowl in 2000. Under Billick, the Ravens made the playoffs four times and won two AFC North titles. Billick had just signed a four-year extension following the 2006 campaign but rumors had it that he had lost the team in the locker room. Before coming to Baltimore, Billick spent seven years with the Minnesota Vikings. While he was viewed as an offensive mind, the Baltimore defense was the staple of the club. In a statement released by the team, Billick said he had a great ride with the Ravens and that he will remain friends with owner Steve Bisciotti
