Anyone curious as to why the Saints starting linebacker didn't see any action during the second pre-season game of 2007? Yeah, we've all heard that he had a foot injury, but apparently a few people are still in the dark as to what really happened. When you get a group of football players together at a water park, injuries become inevitabilities – it's not a matter of “if,” it's a matter of when. In fact, if you happen to see a group of football players at a water park, and have a video camera handy, just follow them around. You'll be likely to grab some footage that will win some cash on a “funniest video” program. Fujita and his fellow Saints had a little contest at the park to see who could get furthest down the slide without actually making contact with the slide surface. Needless to say, the propulsion needed to win such a contest would be quite impressive. So impressive, that Fujita would continue sliding past the bottom of the slide, crashing through some 2x4's, 20 plus feet beyond the end of the slide. It's not an encouraged activity while neck deep in training camp, but such competitiveness mixed with a “no fear” attitude is what makes these modern day gladiators who, and what they are...and why they're so fun to watch! Congrats Scott, you've always been one of my favorites, and you're now in a category all to yourself. Ye shall henceforth be referred to as Slip and Slide.
