Sneaky Saints

Sneaky Saints It seems like it was ages ago that the Saints opened their 2007 season with a beat down at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts. They couldn't put points on the board, they couldn't establish anything on the ground and Drew Brees was just as likely to throw to an opponent as he was to someone in a gold cap. It almost seemed surreal after the team looked so great in their FIVE pre-season games.
(As a fan of football, it's disgusting to watch pre-season action, and to make any team play five games...that's criminal.)
Not only did the Saints lose game 1, but they lost games 2-4, even after having an early bye in the fourth week of the season. Were they a write-off? No, not entirely, but to their pleasure, everyone stopped talking about them. Everyone stopped talking about a team with more potential than any other team in the NFC. That makes perfect sense, right? And what else could you hope for as a Saints fan, or if you're wearing the black and gold on the field?
Then, someone breathed life into this Saints squad. In direct opposition to the beginning of the season, the New Orleans Saints have won 4 in a row, are sitting prett(ier) at .500 and 1/2 game behind Tampa Bay in the NFC South. The Saints could easily finish the season with a more than impressive win streak. People were impressed to see them finish at 10-6 last year, and more than likely, they'll easily duplicate that number this year, even one or two up it. Yes, that would mean potentially winning out, but a quick look at their remaining schedule reveals more than possibility. It starts next weekend vs. St. Louis.
