South Carolina Safety Arrested

Emmanuel Cook, starting safety for the University of South Carolina, was arrested Thursday night for unlawful possession of a hand gun. Cook was arrested with 21 year old James Gore III. They were spotted by authorities as acting suspicious. Cook was released shortly after his arrest by campus police, yet due to the nature of the arrest, he was suspended from the university on Friday 8/24, making him ineligible to practice or play with the team. Cook, who was a standout freshman for the Gamecocks in 2006, has had no previous record of unlawful behavior, and he looks to get the matter resolved as quickly as possible.
