The Saints and Bengals As One

The Cincinnati Bengals and New Orleans Saints got a light-contact look at one another on Thursday before getting back to pre-season game schedules – the next of which will put them up against one another. The Saints, who are doing a little over-time in 2007 pre-season, probably had a look at the best and most similar offense to what they'll see when facing Indianapolis on September 6th for the NFL season opener. The same could be said for the Bengals, who were allowed to get some good offensive and defensive work done against a probable NFC Championship team in the Saints. Chad Johnson requested a little help from the Saints D-backs, asking them to critique his game relentlessly. What he learned is that his poker face was full of tell after tell, including the tightening of his gloves when the play was designed to go to him. Clearly, Johnson is leaving no stone unturned in his quest for his goal of 2,000 yards in 2007.
Both head coaches were very pleased with the result of the NFL version of the “football jamboree,” stating that the teams worked together as one unit, 160 members strong. Surely that will all change once the fans are in the stadium and the referees are on the field.
