Champ Bailey - Cornerback
Champ Bailey - Cornerback Champ Bailey started his illustrious career in Washington with the Redskins. Bailey instantly became a premier, shutdown cornerback but was traded to the Broncos for Clinton Portis in 2004. In the 2006 NFL season, Champ Bailey had what many fans and NFL experts believe was the finest season ever by a defensive back. On top of his usual superb tackling skills and athletic ability, Bailey notched 10 interceptions through the season, tying him for the NFL lead. Several of those interceptions came in clutch situations around the goal line. Bailey also did not give up a touchdown during the season despite going against some of the best receivers and quarterbacks in the league, which in the modern game is unheard of. Champ Bailey is a sure first ballot Hall of Fame defensive back. This year Bailey teams up with Dre Bly to form one of the best 1-2 cornerback tandems in the NFL. Look for another Pro Bowl, Hall of Fame year from Champ Bailey as well as a possible NFL Defensive Player of the Year award. Bailey finished second in last year's voting.
