All the speculation over whether Alexis Sanchez will stay at Arsenal or leave for Bayern Munich look to be getting to the Chilean international.
Sanchez literally aged 30 years overnight!
It may, indeed be the way he’s feeling after a season trying single-handedly at times to keep Arsenal in contention for the Champions League.
But in fact this video, posted on the player’s Instagram account, was made to promote his national team Chile’s involvement in the Confederations Cup.
Sanchez was fitted with prosthetics to resemble an old man playing the role of a child’s grandfather.
The unrecognizable Sanchez is asked by the child for help with a school project and proceeds to tell him about the time he and Chile’s golden generation won the Confederations Cup.
The old man shows the child a video of himself scoring for Chile in the team’s triumphant 2015 Copa America campaign. The boy asks where his grandfather was during this period of success.
‘I was writing history,’ he replies.
The Confederations Cup will take place in Russia with the first group stage match played on June 17 and the final taking place on July 2.
Chile have been drawn in a group with World Cup holders Germany, Asian Cup winners Australia and African Cup of Nations winners Cameroon.
