Arsenal Ace Santi Cazorla Feared His Leg Would be Amputated in Gangrene Horror

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has revealed details of the horrific achilles tendon injury that has kept him out of action for over a year – and told how he almost lost his foot to gangrene after contracting a dangerous infection.

The Spanish star has not played for Arsenal since October last year and underwent multiple operations.

As a result, he lost eight centimetres from the tendon in his right ankle.

In an emotional interview with Spanish newspaper Marca, Cazorla opened up on his fight to play professional football again and posed for a series of shocking photos.

Cazorla joined Arsenal from Malaga in 2012 and has since gone on to make 129 appearances in the Premier League and has also lifted two FA Cups.

He has posted one of his rehab routines on Instagram…
