AC Milan striker Niang arrested in France

Only a month ago AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi was full of praise for their 19-year-old striker M'Baye Niang, currently on-loan at Montpellier. Back then, Berlusconi was brave enough to state that "Niang is better than Mario Balotelli" and now we can say that his statement had some sense. The talented striker Niang has still a lot to prove on the football pitch but off the field he is obviously determined to follow his “role model” Balotelli.

Niang was arrested on Thursday by the French police after smashing his £200,000 Ferrari into a tree and reportedly fleeing the crash site as he already had his driving license suspended previously.

This kind of (mis)behavior is in no way uncommon for this young prospect. Less than two years ago, Niang was also pulled over by Italian Carabinieri police while driving through the streets of Milan. Unable to provide the police with his driving license, Niang chose to pretend to be his eight-year-old teammate Bakaye Traore. He later denied lying to the police officers, but either way, it’s not the first time he's got himself in this kind of trouble and this new addition to his professional biography surely won’t pass unnoticed by some of the top clubs chasing his signature.

Niang has scored three goals in four appearances for French Ligue 1 side Montpellier this season.
