Bale praises Tottenham spirit
Tottenham have lost their past three Premier League fixtures but Gareth Bale believes that their spirit will soon see them back to winning ways.
The Welshman argues that his side were unfortunate in Saturday's 5-2 defeat at the hands of north London rivals Arsenal, suggesting that the red card for team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor made the difference.
The result, continuing a recent dip in form, left Spurs eighth in the table, six points off the Champions League places.
"We started well, felt in control, got an early goal and the lads were confident that we'd see out the rest of the game or even take the game to them and score more goals," Bale told the club's official website.
"It was obviously disappointing in the end but the lads showed spirit, we fought back and tried to attack at every chance.
"If the lads show that spirit in every game, with 11 men, I'm sure we'll be fine."
Asked about how Adebayor was feeling after his 18th-minute dismissal, Bale replied: "He's down, disappointed and so are the rest of the lads.
"We just have to pick ourselves up from here and go again."
