Bale thigh injury confirmed
Real Madrid have confirmed that Gareth Bale is suffering from an injury to his left thigh.
The Wales international is yet to feature in a full game for the Spanish capital club, since making a world-record move from Tottenham.
Bale featured in just 45 minutes of pre-season for Spurs as speculation over his future at White Hart Lane raged and Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has previously bemoaned a lack of fitness in his new star player.
After scoring on his debut against Villarreal on September 14, Bale has made two substitute appearances, against Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League and Atletico Madrid, totalling 76 minutes' worth of playing time.
Madrid will be without Bale for Wednesday night's Champions League meeting with Copenhagen, with the Welshman not included in their squad pending the results of medical examinations.
And after the tests were carried out, the club confirmed the injury, although did not give a timescale for Bale's return to full fitness.
A statement read: "After the tests carried out today (Wednesday), the player Gareth Bale has been diagnosed with a muscle contracture in his left thigh.
"It remains to be seen how the condition develops."
Bale earned his move to Madrid with a stunning season for Spurs last term, netting 26 goals in 44 competitive outings.
