Bastia have denied they are in discussions with Arsenal over a potential deal for midfielder Florian Thauvin.
The French under-20 international has been touted as a potential star of the future despite only making 20 appearances for the Corsican side, leading to reported interest from Arsene Wenger.
But the club denied any such talks had taken place in a statement.
"Sporting Club de Bastia categorically denies the discussions with Arsenal about Florian Thauvin," it read.
"The club does not intend to participate in gossip and fantasies regarding the player moving for completely disproportionate transfer amounts, given the situation of the player and the current prices in the transfer market."
Arsenal have yet to make a signing in the January transfer window, and while Thauvin would not have been the big-name signing that many fans are clamouring for, he could provide a forward option for the side.
