Brazil Serie A wrap: Atletico upset Internacional, Flamengo hold Cruzeiro
Atletico GO claimed just their second win in 12 games after they produced a dominant second-half display to beat Internacional 3-1 on Saturday.
The cellar-dwellers had lost three games in succession but overcame a one-goal deficit at half-time to earn a morale-boosting victory at the Estadio Serra Dourada.
Internacional settled quickest out of the two sides and were rewarded for their efforts with a 15th-minute opener through Fred, who netted his second goal in as many games.
The score remained 1-0 up until the 55th minute before Atletico found their stride and put the visitors to the sword.
Adriano Lara drew the host's level before Ricardo Buena put Atletico ahead with 20 minutes remaining in the match.
And substitute Luciano put the result beyond doubt within five minutes of being on the pitch.
Despite the win, Atletico remain at the foot of the table, 12 points adrift of safety.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Flamengo and Cruzeiro could not be separated in their mid-table clash that ended 1-1.
Former Sporting Lisbon striker Liedson netted his fourth goal in six league outings as Flamengo hit the front after 11 minutes but Cruzeiro responded in the space of eight minutes courtesy of Everton.
And Corinthians consolidated seventh position on the table with a 1-1 draw at Portuguesa.
