Tottenham defender Steven Caulker believes Thursday's Europa League clash with Lazio is an ideal chance to impress England boss Roy Hodgson.
The 20-year-old marked his full international debut against Sweden on November 14 – after initially being called-up for the friendly against Italy without managing to take to the field – and scored to temporarily give England the lead.
Caulker missed Spurs' next game – the north London derby against Arsenal - with a knock but hopes to again impress Hodgson against Europe's elite, namely Lazio talisman Miroslav Klose.
"Every game in a Spurs shirt is a chance to prove myself at international level," he told the Football Association's official website.
"Lazio have a German striker in Klose so I have a chance to prove myself again and get my place back in the England squad."
Caulker has made steady improvement since his season-long loan spell at Swansea City by breaking into Andre Villas-Boas' first-team squad at White Hart Lane, making 12 appearances this season.
