Newcastle United midfielder Dan Gosling has called on the Toon Army to give manager Alan Pardew a break following the clubs sixth consecutive defeat.
Newcastle were beaten 3-0 by Arsenal at the Emirates on Monday night and travelling fans held up banners and demanding for Pardew's head.
Pardew, who returned to the dugout following his seven game ban following a head butt on Hull City's David Meyler, who accepts that the fans have a right to be frustrated.
Newcastle have only picked up 13 points from 17 league games since the turn of the year and a lack of goals has been another area for concern.
But Gosling said: "Having the manager there on the touchy line again was a great help, but ultimately it is the players who cross the white line who have to do the job and again at Arsenal we did not do that.
"We have lose some games where we should not have but we can't just keep saying that.
"We are disappointed but we will go again and have a cup final against Cardiff.
"We get a great travelling army, and at home we will need the fans now more that ever to push us over the line."
