Beijing Guoan continued their unbeaten start to the Chinese Super League season with a narrow 1-0 win at Jiangsu Sainty on Friday.
Joffre Guerron's first-half strike was all that separated the two sides at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre and sent Beijing one point clear at the top of the CSL table.
Jiangsu went into the match on the back of disappointing 2-2 draw at home Shanghai Shenxin last weekend, which saw Dragan Okuka's men come from behind twice to salvage a share of the spoils.
And their poor form continued on Friday as Ecuadorian midfielder Guerron struck the match-winning goal on 19 minutes, his second of the season.
The win moves Beijing onto 10 points, with three wins and a draw after four matches, while Jiangsu remain on four points following three winless games.
