CSL Wrap: Evergrande back to winning ways, Shandong stun Shenhua
Guangzhou Evergrande are on course to retain the CSL title after extending their unbeaten run to 20 games with a 3-0 win over Dalian Aerbin.
Marcello Lippi's men - who dropped points for the first time in seven games last week with a 2-2 draw against Guizhou Renhe - cruised to a comfortable victory on Monday, Dario Conca scoring in the first minute before Brazilian attacker Muriqui and left-back Rong Hao wrapped things up.
The league leaders are still 14 points ahead of nearest challengers Shandong Luneng, who produced an excellent comeback to beat Shanghai Shenhua 3-2 on Saturday.
Cape Verde international striker Dady put Shenhua in command with a first-half double, but former CSKA Moscow man Vagner Love responded in kind after the interval, scoring 11 minutes into the second half before levelling things up from the spot 13 minutes later.
However, it was Yang Xu who proved to be the hero for Shandong, the 26-year-old netting in the 89th minute to secure the points.
Former Tottenham and Sevilla forward Frederic Kanoute found the net as Beijing Guoan overcame Shanghai Shenxin 2-1 on Satuday.
Kanoute gave the visitors the lead after 34 minutes, before Zhang Xizhe doubled the advantage early in the second half.
Wang Yun did pull one back for Shenxin, but a comeback never materialised.
In two Sunday fixtures, a brace from attacker Qu Bo gave Guizhou Renhe a 2-0 win at Jiangsu Sainty, while Yakubu Aiyegbeni was the hero for Guangzhou R&F as they brushed aside Shanghai SIPG 3-0, Eddy Bosnar also getting his name on the scoresheet in an easy win, which moves them up to fifth in the table.
Changchun Yatai are just one point adrift of safety after they secured a 2-1 victory at bottom club Wuhan Zall on Saturday.
The contest looked to be heading for a draw after Li Hang cancelled out Isac's 70th minute strike to draw the hosts level, but Zhang Wenzhao had the final say with his strike seven minutes from time.
Elsewhere, Hangzhou Greentown clinched only their sixth success of the campaign, Ivorian Davy Claude Angan scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win against Liaoning Whowin on Sunday.
