Dallas wins the Texas Derby over Houston: 3-2

Created on 18 Mar., 2013 5:00 AM GMT

This year's only edition of the Texas Derby took place at FC Dallas Stadium today at noon central standard time. For the proceeding 90 minutes fans witnessed a phenomenal game which included an early lead, a comeback, and a game winning goal at the end of the game.

For those of you who missed it, FC Dallas had a 2-0 head start on Houston in the first half of the game thanks to George John and Andrew Jacobson. In the second half of the game, Andrew Driver and Brad Davis scored a goal each within 5 minutes of each other. With the game all tied up at 2-2, Kenny Cooper was able to get the ball passed Tally Hall for the last minute goal and the winning shot of the day. The last minute winner by Cooper was a Cinderella ending for FC Dallas but left a sour taste in the mouths of Houston fans who had to deal with the disappointment during the 4 hour drive home.

This edition of the Texas Derby was the fourth time that Dallas has bested Houston during the regular season.

No word yet on the severity of Will Bruin's injury from this afternoon. Bruin limped off the field in the 49th minute.
