A dissapointed Mathieu Debuchy spoke to the waiting press on Wednesday night after his Lille side were demolished by BATE in their opening game of the Champions League.
It was a disastrous start to the group stage for the French club, who were three goals down by half-time at the Stade Lille Metropole.
The hosts managed to pull a goal back in the second half, but were never really in the contest, and are now bottom of Group F.
Debuchy admitted Lille had been outplayed by the Belarusian champions, and said they will need to rebound quickly as they try to resurrect their domestic campaign against Lyon this weekend.
"Yes, it is true conceding three goals before half-time, it's hard," he said.
"But it is true that we haven't done enough to compete with this team.
"Take 3 -0 at the half, I don't think that ever happened to us.
"We tried to reverse the situation in the second half, but we did not arrive completely. I think we missed a second goal to restart the game.
"There is not much to say. We didn't win the duels, we failed in the field and we didn't find the flaws. We were not in the game.
"It is far from perfection, there are many things to correct. We need to be ready on Sunday against Lyon to win."
