Tianjin Teda midfielder Du Zhenyu could face further punishment after his red card in the Chinese Super League's Round 29.
In the 90th minute of Sunday's 1-1 draw with Guizhou Renhe, Du received a second yellow card for arguing with the referee and was sent off.
The 29-year-old midfielder then started to push and shout at the referee with the confrontation lasting several minutes before Du finally left the pitch.
While the Chinese Super League have yet to announce any punishment, such behaviour could lead to a longer ban for the Tianjin Teda player.
Du had earlier scored the equaliser for Tianjin after they had gone behind to a goal from Australian defender Dino Djulbic.
