Free State Stars will be targeting to go on 20 points when they visit Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Tuesday night.
The two bottom half placed sides will collide in the Absa Premiership match and the kickoff at Petermaritzburg is scheduled for 19:30 GMT+2.
Ea Lla Koto, who are haunted by relegation and sit second from bottom with 17 points after 19 matches, are aware that this is a tricky match as they will come up against a team that is now under the guidance of their former coach, Steve Khompela.
The team of Choice is also in danger as they sit two places up from where Free State Stars are sitting, and a win for the Qwa-Qwa based side will see them go level on points with Maritzburg United, and possible leap-frog them.
Free State Stars interim coach Themba Sithole, who saw his side throw away the first-half lead against Ajax Cape Town in their last outing to end up settling for a draw at home, says two coaches at Maritzburg United knows the culture of his team ahead of the relegation battle encounter.
“The two coaches there Steve Komphela and his assistant and Mandla Ncikazi knows the culture of our team very well. It will be an exciting match as both teams will be looking for nothing but the three points,” Sithole told the club official website.
“We are currently sitting on 17 points and a win will take us to 20 points which will give a sigh of breathe and move at least two places up on the log.
When both sides met earlier this season at the Charles Mopeli Stadium, Free State Stars ran out victorious with a 2-0 scoreline, goals coming from Togolese defender Sedat Ouro-Okoriko and Ghanaian striker Abdul-Basit Adams.
