Eredivisie: RKC Waalwijk 0 Heerenveen 1
A late penalty from Filip Djuricic has given 10-man Heerenveen their first away win of the season as they triumphed 1-0 over RKC Waalwijk.
Heerenveen moved up to 12th thanks to Friday's victory, three points clear of the relegation zone in the Dutch top flight, after Djuricic won and converted a spot kick in the 85th minute.
Having not scored in their three previous games before hosting Heerenveen, RKC were handed arguably their best opportunity to break that goal drought when visiting central defender Ramon Zomer was shown a straight red card in the 49th minute.
But Heerenveen held on as the home side had 55 percent possession and 13 shots to 10, eventually claiming victory when debutant Joey van den Berg and Djuricic combined.
Van den Berg, who joined Marco van Basten's side on Tuesday, timed his pass perfectly to release Djuricic and the Serbian attacking midfielder beat two RKC defenders before Waalwijk's goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet brought him down in the box.
Zoet was sent off and Djuricic stepped up to beat replacement goalkeeper Arjan van Dijk from the spot.
The win was Heerenveen's first in 11 away matches in the Eredivisie this season and takes them to 22 points, while RKC are just one spot and one point ahead on the Dutch league table having not won in five matches.
