Heynckes taking nothing for granted

Jupp Heynckes says Bayern Munich must avoid getting carried away by their stunning Bundesliga form when they compete in Europe.

Bayern have won nine of their ten league matches so far in 2012/13, the latest a 3-0 success over in-form side Hamburg, to lie seven point clear at the top of the table.

But they are by no means as dominant in continental competition and face a fight to qualify from UEFA Champions League Group F.

Bayern are level on six points with Valencia and BATE Borisov, with only their opponents on Wednesday, bottom side Lille, seemingly out of contention.

"In the Champions League there are no easy opponents, we've learned this," Heyneckes said.

"Due to the way the group stands, tomorrow's game will be very important, the next home game as well.

"We must leave aside our league form - this is a different competition. We shouldn't pay much attention to what's been written in the press after the last few Bundesliga matches, especially against Hamburg (after their 3-0 win).

"As a player and manager we should treat all praise with a sober and clear mind and do our daily business as usual."
