International Champions Cup Preview: Real Madrid v Everton

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti wants Isco to keep up his good form against Everton in the International Champions Cup on Saturday.

The Italian was full of praise for his close-season acquisition - who moved to the Santiago Bernabeu from Malaga in June - after Real swept aside LA Galaxy 3-1 in the opening round of the competition.

Isco provided an expert assist to set up Karim Benzema for the first of the France international's two goals after Angel Di Maria had opened the scoring.

As well as the 21-year-old playmaker, Ancelotti also praised Benzema and Di Maria but highlighted the need to improve further against Roberto Martinez's team.

"Di Maria scored and played well. Isco played very well, he is a player who has a great ability to find spaces between lines. Benzema does not surprise me, he is a great forward," the former Paris Saint-Germain boss told Real's official website.

"We try to play together and the players created some good attacking combinations and scoring chances.

"We have to keep improving. The most important thing is to play attacking football and go after the opponent."

Everton got through their opening fixture against Serie A champions Juventus courtesy of a penalty shoot-out victory, after Kwadwo Asamoah had equalised Kevin Mirallas' opener.

Tim Howard made a number of saves to ensure the Premier League side went through to the second round, where they will face Real for only the second time in their history.

The last meeting between the two ended 6-1 to Real in 1987 but, with Mirallas in top pre-season form, that does not look a likely scoreline this time around.

The Belgium international has three goals in four friendly games and believes more are on the way.

"I have scored three goals in four games so for me it's been a good pre-season," he told Everton's official website.

"More importantly I have had no injuries, we have three more games of pre-season and hopefully I can get two or three more goals."

The winner of the fixture at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles will contest the final against either Milan or Chelsea in Miami on Wednesday.
