Peru goalkeeper Jose Carvallo put in an excellent shift for his country in their 0-0 friendly draw with Mexico in San Francisco on Wednesday.
The Universitario shot-stopper was equal to anything the Mexicans - ranked 14th in the world by FIFA - could throw at him at Candlestick Park.
And Jose Manuel de la Torre's team threw plenty at the Peruvians, the 32nd-best country in the world according to FIFA, with wave after wave of attacks amounting to nothing.
Mexico were awarded a dubious penalty in the 68th minute after Omar Bravo fell in the penalty area under pressure from Peru skipper Christian Ramos.
But Carvallo was equal to the task, diving well to his right to block Angel Reyna's spot-kick and ensuring honours remained even in front of 46,288 supporters.
