Did Philipp Hoffmann really miss what could have been the easiest goal in the history of football? Why yes, yes he did.
Hoffmann (pictured here in his Preussen Muenster kit, but has since moved to Kaiserslautern) had this incredibly simple chance to put his club ahead in a Bundesliga 2 clash last week against Union Berlin, but things simply didn't go as planned.
What position does Hoffmann play on the pitch? You guessed it: Striker.
This clearly was not one of his better moments on the pitch, and I'm sure he's been the subject of more than a few funny jokes from his teammates since the miss.
However, at least Kaiserslautern went on to win the match. Otherwise, Hoffmann certainly would have been kicking himself for not being able to capitalize on this complete gift directly in front of a clear goal.
